GOOGLE RUSHES TO PATCH CHROME VULNERABILITY –
UPDATE RECOMMENDED 
On Monday, Google released out-of-band security patches to address a critical security flaw in its Chrome web browser that it said has been exploited in the wild. Users are recommended to upgrade to Chrome version 116.0.5845.187/.188 for Windows and 116.0.5845.187 for macOS and Linux to mitigate potential threats.

MGM Resorts International has experienced a suspected ransomware cybersecurity incident, causing trouble for the company’s main website, online bookings, and in-casino services such as ATMs, slot machines and card payment machines. The well-known name in the world of hotels and casinos has launched an investigation and shut down some of its operations to protect its systems.

AI AND USBs DRIVE 8% RISE IN CYBER ATTACKS
The 2023 Mid-Year Security Report released by Check Point Research revealed a concerning 8% surge in global weekly cyber-attacks during Q2, marking the most significant increase in two years.  The report highlights the fusion of advanced AI technology with traditional tools like USB devices used for disruptive cyber attacks. The report also uncovered a rise in ransomware attacks in the first half of 2023.
