What You'll Do
- Assist with AI-driven cybersecurity initiatives
- Research emerging cyber threats and AI technologies
- Support cybersecurity assessments and compliance engagements
- Help develop AI automations and productivity solutions
- Assist with Microsoft Azure cloud implementations
- Support Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Participate in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) projects
- Create technical documentation and security reports
- Collaborate with senior cybersecurity consultants on live customer engagements

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college or university
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Open to students from any academic major
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or emerging technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Motivated, dependable, and eager to learn

You will work closely with our engineering, security, and operations teams to optimize cloud resources, handle networking and access management, and help advance our cloud governance frameworks. As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, you’ll be helping us build and maintain the next generation of secure digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Operations & Management: Provision, configure, and maintain core Microsoft Azure services, ensuring maximum performance, elasticity, and minimal downtime.
- Identity & Access Control: Manage Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), conditional access policies, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Secure Networking: Configure and oversee secure cloud networking architectures, including virtual networks (VNets), VPN gateways, Azure Firewalls, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Monitoring & Governance: Implement Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to track performance, monitor for anomalies, and ensure constant compliance posture.
- Cost & Resource Optimization: Monitor cloud consumption, manage budgeting alerts, and optimize resource allocations to control expenditure without risking operational efficacy.
- Data Protection: Implement and test robust backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
- Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Microsoft Azure environments.
- Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with core Azure components (Compute, Storage, Networking, Identity, and Governance).
- Automation: Experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or basic Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates / Bicep / Terraform) to manage cloud environments.
- Communication: Ability to communicate cloud concepts clearly to both technical engineers and business stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with a strong attention to detail.
- Additional Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer, SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator).
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, or RMF).
- Basic understanding of DevOps principles and integrations with Azure DevOps pipelines.
